Keith R. Lorenze, a partner with Henkel & Cohen, P.A., concentrates his practice in business and commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation.  He represents marketing companies and traders in the fresh produce industry in both state and federal courts nationwide. He also advises clients on business, employment, and other related matters.

Keith joined Henkel & Cohen after having practiced at small, mid-sized, and large law firms in Los Angeles, Houston, New York, and Philadelphia.  His advocacy skills, honed in both trial and appellate practice and across all phases of a wide variety of areas of commercial litigation, have earned him the respect of his peers, who have selected him for inclusion in the Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” lists in New York, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Prior to entering private practice, he served as a judicial law clerk at both the trial and appellate court levels.

Keith earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, in History and Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton.

Practice Areas

  • Commercial litigation, including multi-party and other complex cases, in state and federal courts nationwide involving any type of business dispute, including breach of contract, torts such as breach of fiduciary duty and fraud, violations of statutes and regulations, insurance disputes, and commercial landlord/tenant disputes
  • Representation of U.S. fresh produce industry traders and participants in produce industry and business disputes, including in reparation complaint proceedings before the U.S. Department of Agriculture under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act ("PACA") and in federal court actions involving the PACA Trust
  • Contract negotiation and drafting, including agreements for the sale of businesses and the sale of goods
  • Advising individuals and business entities on matters of general business law and corporate/limited liability company (“LLC”) law
  • Business “divorces,” including disputes between shareholders, LLC members, partners, and other business owners, and the dissolution of businesses
  • Judgment collection for creditors and advising debtors on asset protection and judgment collection protection
  • Serving as outside general counsel for companies
