Tim Henkel, Arbitrator for U.S. Produce Industry Disputes

Growers, exporters, brokers, marketing companies, and other traders and participants in the U.S. produce industry interested in resolution of disputes involving fresh fruits and vegetables in the United States may wish to submit their claims and defenses to an arbitrator. Lawsuits in U.S. courts involve substantial legal fees, take a lengthy time period to resolve, and have a decisionmaker in a judge and jury who are generally unfamiliar with the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act and the produce industry.

Tim Henkel has worked as legal counsel handling business, produce industry, and PACA disputes in state and Federal lawsuits in court. He has represented produce companies in informal and formal reparation complaint proceedings under the PACA before the USDA (including in oral hearings) and also arbitrated disputes before the American Arbitration Association and the Society of Maritime Arbitrators. Tim is a Florida Supreme Court Qualified Arbitrator.

With over 25 years of experience as an attorney in the produce industry, with a rich background in business matters and commercial litigation, and with a respectful and cooperative relationship with other PACA attorneys around the U.S., Tim is a mature, experienced neutral who can provide an efficient arbitration option to resolve produce industry disputes.
