Henkel & Cohen Partner, Ira Cohen, Esquire, a proud Member of the Federal Bar Association (and the FBA’s Litigation and Intellectual Property Law Sections), attended FBA’s 2018 Apparel and Fashion Law Seminar in New York City on February 09, 2018.
The Federal Bar Association (FBA) hosted its 5th annual Fashion Law Conference at Parsons during New York Fashion Week on Friday, February 9—highlighting the latest litigation and legislative/regulatory issues shaping fashion and retail. The panels covered the legal and policy implications for block-chain, artificial intelligence and connected fashion—as well as U.S. and EU legal perspectives, particularly relevant for fashion tech companies that engage with customers in Europe. The day-long conference also included sessions on sexual harassment and diversity, the renegotiation of NAFTA, and financial crimes and fashion.
FBA represents the Federal legal profession. It consists of more than 18,000 federal lawyers, including 1,500 federal judges, who work together to promote the sound administration of justice and integrity, quality and independence of the judiciary. The FBA also provides opportunities for scholarship and for judges and lawyers to professionally and socially interact. The mission of the Association is to strengthen the federal legal system and administration of justice by serving the interests and the needs of the federal practitioner, both public and private, the federal judiciary and the public they serve. The Association strives to be recognized as the premier bar association serving the federal practitioner and judiciary.
