Jared Lay



Jared Lay is an associate attorney at Henkel & Cohen, P.A. He focuses his practice in general commercial litigation and business transactions. Prior to joining Henkel & Cohen, Jared was an associate at a law firm in the Tampa Bay area where he practiced commercial litigation, land use, construction law, bankruptcy, business and real estate transactions, and estate planning. Jared’s experience includes handling contract disputes and transactional contract matters, as well as general corporate work.

Jared is a member of the Florida Bar and received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated cum laude. While in law school, Jared served on the executive board of the Florida Journal of International Law. Jared has also served as a judicial fellow for the Honorable Morris Silberman of the Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa, Florida. In addition, he was a legal intern for the U.S. Navy JAG in Silverdale, Washington and for the Vice President and General Counsel’s office at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. Prior to law school, Jared obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia University.

In his leisure time, Jared enjoys watching the West Virginia Mountaineers football and basketball teams, playing golf and soccer, and reading.
